“Stories of Humanity"

"Stories of Humanity" is the new permanent exhibition at the Cultural Center “Jules Pascin” — a space in which memory speaks, human destinies leave their mark, and communication becomes a bridge between times, people, and cultures. It is built in two main parts, connected by a common idea — the power of human communication.

The first part is a library space with a modern and functional design, located in the room of the Jewish community. Here you will see paintings by the artist Jules Pascin, donated by Eleonora Tsvetkova and Tsvetomir Todorov, as well as old printed Jewish books provided by the State Archives Agency.

The second part unfolds in the exhibition halls on the second floor and invites visitors on a journey back in time.

Two long tables await you to tell you the "Stories of Humanity" — an invitation to communicate, discover, and empathize.

The first table tells the story of the past of the Jewish community in Vidin and the history of the multicultural and multiethnic Danube city — a story of peaceful coexistence that has gone through difficult trials and demonstrates the strength of the community.

The second table takes the visitor into the world of Jules Pascin — born in Vidin and embarked on the path of great art. It traces his life from his hometown to the artistic circles of Europe and America, revealing him not only as a world-famous artist, but also as a man deeply connected to his roots.

The sensory journey includes a rich palette of dishes, paintings, models, comics, films, documents, immersive sounds, and first-person narratives, complemented by unexpected and impactful situations.

The project was implemented in partnership between the Municipality of Vidin, the Municipal Cultural Institute "Danube", and the "America for Bulgaria" Foundation, with the author being the architectural studio "Atelier 3".

If you are looking for a place that speaks of tolerance, memory, and communication in a modern and impactful way, the Cultural Center "Jules Pascin"  awaits you.
